Firetruck missions are whatever, the reward for completing them is usually worthwhile. VCS added checkpoints but it doesn't alleviate the tediousness. If you fail, you have to start the entire process all over again. The ambulance missions have always been the most boring and drawn out side missions in the 3D universe. Ambulance, taxi, vigilante, and firetruck missions. Pool is the only one that poses a real challenge to me. I find bowling and darts to be addictive in this game but why must I do everything with all my friends? For what purpose? Once isn't enough? Not only must you do them, you also have to win at each. Complete every activity with specific friends. The more important question is, why? Why is this required? Just like hidden packages, who is doing this without a guide? It's one thing to drive around and do your own stunts, and another to find specific jumps for 100%, let alone find the appropriate vehicle to get the job done. Overjumping, underjumping, driving your vehicle into water, land in a specific spot, etc. But why? What is the point of this? Is this supposed to be enjoyable? I found a mod that instantly teleports you to each pigeon so it should make the process a breeze. Every time I've tried since, I've given up.

I've only done this once, back on 360 when the game first released. I give it a pass in GTA 3 because that game was the first of its kind in many ways but why has this become a staple? Who thinks discovering hundreds of small things in a large open world is enjoyable? Also, who is doing this without a guide? I'm currently working my way through the 200 pigeons in GTA IV.

But does anybody else find achieving 100% to be a chore? This question could apply to any game, really, but GTA veterans should know what I'm talking about. Usually, you're rewarded in some way for doing so and everything is open to you. This includes only the single player portions of GTA IV and V. I've completed every single title from GTA 3 onward to 100%. More importantly, I love the action and freedom. I love the series, I love the worlds, I love the stories, and, yes, I love Houser writing. I consider myself a huge and dedicated GTA fan. I've been playing through GTA IV on PC recently so this topic has been on my mind.
